The problem is that by officially supporting GPL code linking to PHP, we'd be
exposing the PHP project to converting to the GPL, because of its viral nature.
Since we don't want PHP to to be GPL, we can't and won't do that.
(I'm avoiding specifics here, but let's just say that the philosophies
behind the licenses
are not compatible)
So what else do you accept if not those?
Pretty much any other non-viral open source license is ok, although we
tend to prefer PHP or Apache BSDish licenses, because they are closer
to our own license.
