I assume you mean head of cvs and not of pear-core?
This is most definitely a bug in php, probably the static is not persisting.
I'm getting this when I try and do 'pear package'
PEAR_Packager: tarball creation failed
That needs more investigation..
not very helpful error message :) pear 1.4 has MUCH more detail when
junk fails in packaging.
Installing an old package I made earlier..
pear install DB_DataObject-1.7.4.tgz
Invalid checksum for file
"package.xml)\uffff\uffff\uffff\uffff\uffff'...... and lots of bad
characters...
This may be problems with the php5 snapshot though..
Interesting. Wonder what is going on there?
