Does anyone know of a php package that handles Dreamweaver templates? I'm working on a new project in which that functionality would be very useful.

Whe you say "handles" Dreamweaver templates, what exactly do you mean? (Some of us are still hand-coding vampires and shrink from the bright light of WYSIWYG tools. ;-)

I mean this: my school is buying a CMS system (not my decision) that uses dreamweaver style templates. This system publishes straight HTML to the production server. We're also going to want some pages to have a degree of dynamic content. If I could use the exact same templates (ie, without any modifications) that would be great, save me time and allow our graphic designer to update the entire site.

The only things I've found are php-templates [php-templates.sourceforge.net]. However, this is a php extension written in C, for portability, I would much rather have a php solution, if available.
...
Ideally, one of the PEAR templating packages would be able to do this, so that I can keep everything integrated with PEAR (QF, MDB, etc). As far as I can tell, though, none of them do so. I would not be opposed to writing the code to handle this, as long as I could get some help from the package maintainer.

Although I am not clear as to your requirements, perhaps Savant will provide what you need. Although Savant is not in PEAR, it is fully PEAR compliant. I quote the home page: "Savant is a powerful but lightweight PEAR-compliant template system for PHP. It is non-compiling, and uses PHP itself as its template language so you don't need to learn a new markup system. ... It has an object-oriented system of template plugins and output filters..."

For more information, please see <http://phpsavant.com>.

Looks nice, but not what I'm looking for. Sorry, I wasn't clear enough initially.
