vpopmail extensions

Hi,

I just updated my old apache/php system, to http-2.044/php-4.3.1
I didn't really notice but in the PHP's ./configure there is not anymore any 
vpopmail option ..
Well when i tried to log onto a site i developped which use some vpopmail 
functions for the  users
authentication there was something wrong :)

In PHP changelog i found that the vpopmail functions were moved to the 
PEARL/PECL extensions, but
i can't find any word of vpopmail support in the PEARL doc, in PECL doc, in the 
PEARL packages, or
in the ext dir of php. Could someone explain me how to use those functions or 
isn't it implemented
yet and i have to downgrade ?
