viewing the soap envelope without sending it

Is there a way to get nusoap to spit out the soap envelope without actually
sending it?
 
ie something similar to 
 
$result = $client->call('servicename', array('parameters' => $args));
 
that will just generate the envelope without actually posting it? I'm using
NuSOAP with WSDL.
