[PHP-INSTALL] SSL Extension

I've had PHP 5.0.2 running on my server for several days now.  I installed 
the OpenSSL extension via the FreeBSD ports collection and when I attempted 
to restart Apache, it would not restart.  I tried the installation again 
and the same thing happened.  Once I removed the extension and restarted 
Apache everything was okay.  Anyone have any ideas?
