Oracle 8.0.6 connection

As php_oci8.dll is not working, I tried php_oracle.dll. However, the
script can't make a connection to the database. I use the following code
to make a connection. Could anyone tell me if it is correct?
 
ora_logon(user@tnsname, "password");
