I chose .phpw since it does not matter at all if a (w)indowed php app
uses tk, gtk or win32 api
to create a gui - .exe files also don't have .exec, .exed (delphi),
.exev (visual basic) and such.
The gnope installer also sets up a pear environment so people can use
the gtk2 packages in there or distribute their apps as pear compatible
packages. For this I ship PEAR_Frontend_Gtk2, to make application
installation as easy as possible.
It also ships the demos, some dev programs (dev_inspector and such), and
the wimp theme engine - if the user checks the items.
