Fast CGI ok with mod_php

Hi folks

I am thinking of doing some work with a platform that requires Fast CGI.

Does anyone know if I can run Fast CGI safely alongside mod_php?

The reason I ask is that a Rackspace support guy told me there are problems 
running Fast CGI and mod_perl on the same server.

(I would appreciate any feedback on the accuracy of this claim, as well).

I am using Apache 1.3 on Linux.
