eaccelerator not respecting permissions: msg#00004

Subject: eaccelerator not respecting permissions
With eaccelerator 0.95 on apache2 in debian, whenever i enable
eaccelerator, permissions on php scripts get ignored. for example i use
horde and whenever i change read permission on test.php they get
ignored, it even reads the file if root:root owns the file and has 000
permissions. If a disable eaccelerator than apache will not show or run
the file unless the right permissions are set. Any ideas why?
