favicon appearas adress bar but not in tab?

  website in question: http://kamaze.zasran.com/

  I have placed a custom favicon.ico into the root of the web site 
directory and it is properly displayed when I go to the website (tested 
with firefox). However if I open more tabs the tabs do not have favicon 
(other website have favicons in tabs, tried google, slashdot). If I 
switch between tabs and get back to http://kamaze.zasran.com/ the 
favicon is gone, I have to reload the page for favicon to appear again.
  I looked at the source of the main page and the head element does not 
mention favicon.
  Any ideas? (I searched the drupal site, googled, searched the all the 
installed drupal files for 'favicon' but found nothing relevant)

  debian unstable
  drupal 4.5.5, default blue marine theme
  mysql 4.0.24
  php 4.4.0
