Agreed. Nothing beats a good set of native binary widgets for expressiveness
and responsiveness.

Unfortunately in this case, a web UI is necessary -- the application will be
used by third-party volunteers using whatever computer they can get their hands
on (typically old and slow). I can't expect them to install anything, either
because it's not their computer, they don't know how, or both.

Nice. Which Windows Perl distribution(s) do they work with? Do they work with
text-to-speech or other technologies for visually impaired people?
