Looking at CR pointed by you:-

Work Around  Force Xorg to use the vesa driver:

Boot into single-user and run /usr/X11/bin/Xorg -configure
Copy /xorg.conf.new to /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and scroll to the "Device" section.
Replace  Driver "intel" with Driver "vesa"
