SUMMARY: A1000 battery question: msg#00079os.solaris.managers.summaries
Well...the votes are unanimous (for the most part), and the answer is yes, they are hot swappable. So far I have swapped out 4 batteries - 4 remaining, and I have not had an issue as of yet. I took the suggestion to disable write cache on the arrays about 15 minutes prior to replacing the battery (even though 3 of the 4 were already disabled due to the battery issue), then enable it again after the new batteries have charged (I also did this at a time of low traffic). Simple as that. Thanks All!!! -B -----Original Message----- From: sunmanagers-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:sunmanagers-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Brian Sent: Monday, March 01, 2004 4:32 PM To: sunmanagers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: A1000 battery question Hey All, Quick question: Has anyone has success replacing dead batteries in the A1000 hot? I know sun says no, but the batteries are dead anyway and just seems ridiculous you have to take down a system to replace it. Just looking for some first hand experience with this. thanks! -B _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagers |
