SUMMARY: sample frequency and count for sar

Original question below.

With the exception of Karl Vogel everybody suggested to have a look at various 
freeware alternatives (mrtg,orca) rather than develop something myself. This is 
not really an option because the scripts I am developing are in fact in place; 
it has been working since a year. What I do now is add new features and fix 
bugs.
I have to say though that in the past year or so products like MRTG plus 
add-ons such as cacti have made much progress. I would not build something from 
scratch now.

Thanks Karl both for your script and your input on what interval and count to 
use on sar.
