SUMMARY: open file descriptors: msg#00120os.solaris.managers.summaries
Thanks to all. Parameters to set are: rlim_fd_max rlim_fd_cur general consensus was that 1024 for max was ok but be wary of going beyond that. Some users I have seen have went to 4096 and seem to be ok, but I suppose it is a matter of what binaries you choose to execute in your environment. -----Original Message----- From: Markham, Richard [mailto:RMarkham@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, June 20, 2002 1:27 PM To: Sunman (E-mail) Subject: open file descriptors I'm running solaris 8 and want to increase descriptors from 256 to 1024 to accomodate and oracle database. What parameters do I set in /etc/system and are there any drawbacks/considerations. _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagers |
