fontconfig: msg#00434os.openbsd.ports
First, I realize that we are close to release, so I'm not considering any changes soon. This may not even be the best place to ask this question, but here goes ... I made a port for gimp-2.0pre3, because I want to use it. Anyway, it needs fontconfig 2.2.0. Our X has fontconfig 2.1.0. I made a port for fontconfig 2.2.0, but I don't think it's really a good idea to have 2 versions of a package installed. Not to mention, they both want their configs in /etc/fonts. So, I think I'm going to work fontconfig 2.2.0 into my X sources. My questiona are: Has anyone else tried merging fc 2.2.0 into their X tree yet? Does anyone know if fc 2.2.0 will break X programs and/or major ports like gtk+? If I'm successful with the merge, and there's no or easily fixed X/ports breakage, how likely would it be that fc in our X tree would be updated (the fc 2.2.0 files do not have the new XFree86 license)? Again, I know there are better things to do now, so please don't spend your precious time muling over my silliness. -- <jakemsr@xxxxxxxxxxx> |
