Untar the archive. Run 'php maintenance/update.php' (with a real command-line PHP; if the command is named differently use the actual name.) Remember that for command-line maintenance scripts an AdminSettings.php is necessary; see AdminSettings.sample. If command-line PHP is not available, remove LocalSettings.php and AdminSettings.php, and run the web installer. Give it the same language, database, name etc settings and it will run the updates on the existing backups. -- brion vibber (brion @ pobox.com)
