POI-HSSF Question

Hi All,

I'm working with some of the Fitnesse guys to create a .NET port of 
Fitnesse. I'm working on the FolderRunner/SpreadsheetRunner which uses 
POI-HSSF to read in Excel documents.

This may sounds like a silly question, but do you all know if POI-HSSF 
requires that Excel be installed on the machine it is going to run on? 
I'm wanting to make sure that as I write a .NET reader (or using an 
existing one) that it have the same external requirements as POI-HSSF.
