Subject: Re: core dump permanent settings

i think its...... do ulimit -a to get current settings & to change

"ulimit -c value"

is your  "/root" free space size less than the total memory available?

Hi,

I've observed that these days most of the Linux distributors disable core
dump when the programs SIGSEGV.

Workaround is to use `ulimit -c unlimited`;

But this setting doesn't get retained after a reboot.
I'm sure there must be a specific config file where such settings are
defined.

Does anyone know of it ?

PS: Please don't tell me to put the command in rc.local or write a small
script to accomplish it. I'm interested in finding out the standard way of
getting it done.

Thanks,
Ritesh
