(clug-talk) OT: Linux Automation/Robotics Software Books

A bit off topic, but does anyone knows about some software tools for 
Robotics/Automation in Linux...A couple of used books(software-related) 
would also come in handy, even if it is not about linux...
I am trying to teach myself to write software/code to interface with 
electronics/industrial control systems, etc....But I'd like it to be in 
Linux if possible.
