OK... Paul, am sters din greseala raspunsul tau, dar trebuie sa ai grija ca 
 domeniul din /etc/hosts sa coreleze cu cel setat in hostname, prin rc.conf.

Spre exemplu:

hostname="beast.rdstm.ro" (in rc.conf)

Atunci in /etc/hosts:
::1                     localhost.rdstm.ro localhost
127.0.0.1               localhost.rdstm.ro localhost

Si in /etc/resolv.conf:
domain  rdstm.ro
nameserver      x.x.x.x

Daca tin bine minte, la tine "rdstm.ro" se traduce prin "mydomain".
