Tampaknya artikel Rick Mathes ini sangat populer di berbagai milis/situs 
(militan ?) Kristiani. Coba saja ketik "Rick Mathes" di Google.

Supaya gambaran soal "cerita nyata" ini lebih lengkap saya kutipkan 2 situs yg:
(1) mencoba melihat validitas cerita nyata yg dimaksud, dan 
(2) yg berupaya untuk meningkatkan hubungan persaudaraan antara umat 
Kristiani-Islam.

breakthechain.org telah memasukkan artikel / surat yg dibuat oleh Rick Mathes 
diatas sebagai salah satu yg tidak perlu untuk disebarluaskan --> break the 
chain.

 (3/24/2004) Since the horrible events of September 11, 2001, the Islamic 
faith, and those who follow it, have been the subjects of intense scrutiny and 
distrust. Desperate to know why so many innocent people had to die, many have 
tried to "prove" that the Muslim faith is intrinsically violent. Given this 
social tone, it is not surprising that this chain letter, supposedly putting 
one of Islam's own on the spot, has become so popular. At the very least, we 
can say this is a one-sided account of real events.

An anti-Muslim email and its response
  
Enclosed is a response by Dr. Pittman to an anti-Muslim email with a hope that 
it will benefit others. I have removed the email addresses from the email 
exchanges which took place. I thank Dr. Pittman for the response and his 
efforts to improve Christian-Muslim relations.
