I have a feeling that since 911 tragedy, the British Gov. (and many 
others) has been imposing a very strict rules for us Indonesian.
Oh well, 'dosa' satu dua orang ditanggung seluruh bangsa.
But maybe I'm just too judgemental here :)

Btwy, ada satu lagi cara buat stay di UK. Yang ini saya dapat dari 
temen-temen orang Slovakia.  Memang sekarang mereka sudah masuk EU, tapi 
dulu mereka nasib-nya sama seperti kita (being ex - East European Country).
Namanya adalah Business Visa (nah lo). Basically, you are applying visa 
as self-employed.  Nah, jenis pekerjaannya macem-macem, ada yang 
perusahaan biking kue, ada yang di bidang bangunan (builders), atau 
design interior, plumbing, electrician, etc.  Mereka biasanya mita 
tolong agent (lawyer) untuk mengurus visa ini.

Anyway, just my 2p. Anything helps, right ?
