It was caused by use of a Proxy Server that did not transparently support "HTTP Keep Alive" feature, used by many "web service" type applications to optimise the efficiency and throughput of the connection. It can also be caused by a Proxy Server that supports "Keep Alive" but has a short timeout (to minimise use of resources). So you only see the problem when the network is busy. John Walton |
