Re: [qa-dev] Helping the Mac OS X port: msg#00219openoffice.devel.general
Hi Maunuel, On 29 Dec 2006, at 14:00, Manuel NAUDIN wrote: Hello, I have some experience there. Best place to check is the QA project website. I presume that you have already joined the QA project. Testing on the Mac is very similar to the Linux platforms, though there are some issues on the mac. I would recommend using the testscript from http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=71973 The script that is likely to be the one to be used in the future and works both on Mac and Linux. I'm the first person to host and maintain a Mac buildbot :-) You can have the claim to fame, of hosting the fist PPC Mac buildbot. Great we are currently looking for a PPC Mac buildbot :-) - Mac OS X.4.8 Have you built OpenOffice.org on your Mac? The current milestone is m197. The current config line that I find successful is: ./configure --with-x --with-jdk-home=/System/Library/Frameworks/ JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK/Home --disable-gtk --disable- build-mozilla --disable-neon Please contact the mac porting (not qa list) list or speak to us on IRC, if you have any build problems. That is the first step to hosting a buildbot. Once you have built OpenOffice.org yourself, and have a stable internet connection. You need to have a continuous connection for the whole duration of compiling OpenOffice.org and uploading it. I currently have a 2Mbit down/256kbit up cable internet connection. Compilation plus upload can take as much as 9 hours on my 2GHz MacBook Intel Core Duo. This is slow, it is usually nearer 6 or 8 hours. If just a compilation with no upload of the final product being done, it can take as little as 5 hours. Please take a look at the information on the OpenOffice.org wiki: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Buildbot http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Buildbot_Steps !!! http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/MacOSXBuildInstructions !!! http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/MacOSXPortMeetings ! (You can come and join us at any time) http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Category:MacOSX You will need to speak to Kai Blackman (kaib) or Mike Leibowtiz (mikeleib), I have cc'ed them so that they can contact you with more information, including getting your bot added to the build master. (I need to get the master updated with the new config params above.) I don't know if the bot will be added to the master before the new year. I can help with the Mac specific parts of the buildbot system, at this time I have no access to the build master. What we need to try and do with the buildbots is to check that all CWSes that are due to be integrated, will not break on the Mac, as it is an area that we in the Mac team often have.
Unfortunately I cannot help here.
I'm sure others will be able to help you too. Hope this helps you. Shaun -- ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Messenger - with free PC-PC calling and photo sharing. http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com |
