Absolutely. I think that is one of its strongest points: you can  
combine it with your other tools. Any single tool trying to cover all  
possible situations then aims to _replace_ our usual tools. Pootle  
just gives you more options.

You can search globally, or at different levels of the tree. It's  
quick. Replace is an uocoming feature.

is certainly possible.

You have complete control over user access. You can assign individual  
files or directories to users, and can restrict their level of  
participation. The "suggestion" level is particularly useful for  
translators who need review.

It's up to you how you design your workflow: Pootle, like any tool,  
can be part of that.

 Pootle can do a lot of the things you want, but like any tool, it's  
completely up to you if you use it or not. It's free software.
