Subject: Re: pfaedit fixed, now onto maxima errors
I already did what Shantonu Sen suggested (moving the maxima-list file from the receipts directory) and it worked and I put the file back. I would suggest not to waste your time in renaming things when Port Images, which should fix this, should be coming out soon (or so I hear). Thank you all again for your continued help.

I tried the -f flag and it did not work. I also looked through the Port man page and didn't see anything else that looked like it would work here. Any suggestions?

This is a design problem with the way receipt names are handled in HEAD. It was the motivation for Port Images. port thinks maxima is installed because maxima-lisp is installed.

However, we cannot switch to Port Images yet because it would bring more problems than what it would fix.

I think you can force the installation with -f

Ugh. I can rename the maxima-lisp port to maxima_lisp or maximalisp if that will work around the problem for now. I held off doing so before because the consensus of the list seemed to be that Port Images would be added soon. As always, the last 10 percent of the
work takes 90 percent of the time....

What do people think? My preference is to use the underscore '_'. Will that cause any
problems?

Best Wishes,
Greg
