problem installing gdk-pixbuf (fontconfig)

Just an update:

I was able to install all fontconfig dependencies: freetype, pkgconfig 
and expat. But fonconfig returns with the same error...
also, I have modifies the /etc/ports/ports.conf file so that ports get 
installed in /usr/local/bin/xmedcon. Could that be a problem?
