em(4) broken on alpha? (fwd): msg#00003

Subject: em(4) broken on alpha? (fwd)
I would like to know if anyone has been able to get NICs that use the
em(4) driver working on OpenBSD 3.4 or 3.5. I have experienced problems
with Intel PRO/1000XT NICs on both a XP1000 and a DS20. The XP1000 is
currently running OBSD 3.2 since that was the last version to work
properly on the hardware. The problems with the XP1000 are outlined at:

http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=openbsd-alpha&m=107826670310083&w=2

3.5 runs fine on the DS20 provided the Intel NIC is not configured. If the
Intel NIC is assigned an IP, the machine becomes completely unresponsive
and must be rebooted. Below is the dmesg for the DS20. The reason the DS20
is not running GENERIC is that GENERIC won't boot, as outlined at:

http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=openbsd-alpha&m=107829056900509&w=2

The only difference between the running kernel and GENERIC is the line:
config bsd root on sd0a swap on sd0b

If anyone has any advice on how to get the em driver working, it would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
