Link measurement tool for WiFi QOS?: msg#00136network.wireless.seattle.general
Greetings: I am interested in VOIP and Video Conferencing over WiFi. Both these are jitter sensitive and are best deployed with a guaranteed QOS (Quality of Service). Has anyone come across a good free logging device like Netstumbler that would allow me to not just measure signal strength and data rates but also consistent data through put of a WiFi link? As you know, when just doing web surfing and emailing the data speed may appear to be relatively good even though there may be a lot of retransmissions. Whereas with VOIP or Video, the audibility of voice or visual look can be greatly compromised when data exceeds 250 msec to complete a round-trip.
