Subject: Re: lowest power AP

I can't really talk about the lowest power as there is a lot of stuff coming onto the market. However I have played with an RG1000 setup to run off a small nicad battery pack. I took it out of its case and ran it with 1000 ma batteries. got about 1.5 to 2 hrs. A 5V. AP should do better. And NIMH batteries have a higher energy Density.

I'm looking for a very light weight, low power drain AP to send up in a balloon.

Has anyone looked at power draw and optimum battery voltage? I would guess that some people are doing solar powered units.
