Subject: looking for help planning 802.11 deployment

Hello All,

First off, sorry for intruding upon your list as I'm not in the
Seattle area. My company just got a contract to set up a wireless LAN
that will be serving about 50 users at a local apartment complex, and
i'm looking for some online discussion groups/forums/mailing lists that
could offer some advice on deploying 802.11 networks. I've spent the
past few days reading everything I can find on the subject.

Based on what I've read thus far, I'm looking at using OrinocoRG1000s,
15 dBi omnis from Hyperlink, and NoCatAuth to handle user
authentication. I have a few questions, mainly I want to know if the
rg1000 can act as a wireless repeater. The general thought I have is to
install a central "master AP" at the main office where the NoCat box
will be located, and place "repeater" access points as needed throughout
the property. Unfortunately, we can't run ethernet out of the main
office building, so all the repeater Aps would have to connect to the
network by talking to the master AP, or another repeater. I realize
this limits available bandwidth, but it's the best we can do. I'm
entirely open to any suggestions you may have as to other access points
or different methods of laying out the network.

Thanks very much in advance for any help you can offer!
