Re: SUN JRE (Java) as package for TS2: msg#00059network.thinstation.devel
OK, except for my ERP task there are many other advanteges having JRE! Thinstation will become very powerfull independent platform that could run not only buid-in thin-client packages. Kiosks, Banking, Different ERP-CRM interfaces, POS-terminals, - there are a lot of speciffic "thin" clients of 3-tier Client-Server solutions, that can work everywhere whith Java runtime. > is TS for new OEMs or older HW.The concensus seems to be TS should work on old HW. I think, TS-based network shold be a powerfull HW-independent, secure and safe solution, that require no administration and no upgrades. And TS MUST work complete with WEB-based servises, because not only terminal-based workstations need this solution. As for very old PC - You can use light packages only.
