Thanks, but I don't think it's right to tell server managers that all they 
need to do in order to support APP is write some scripts which go through and 
renumber all their Atom ID's, particularly if said Atom ID allocation is RFC 
4287 compliant.

What I did, was extend the APP protocol to account for the fact that Atom-the-
format says my feeds are perfectly valid as-is.  I found that it really is 
not hard to interact with such a feed with a publishing client protocol, so 
IMHO re-engineering my entire Atom ID allocation is not really an attractive 
option.
