No, the APP tells how to use Atom representations sent over HTTP
to update your resource. Your server could store that data
as flat files, Berkeley DB, SQL, ANS.1 or record via interpretive
dance onto VHS tapes. It doesn't matter. In the
process of updating your resource you are free to drop, add, or modify
the data from the representation as you see fit to update your
resource. The server is ultimately in control of the resource.
The representation is just that, a representation of the state
of the resource, the shadow on the wall of Plato's cave.
