I think that this message tells you it was configured to use IP access
controls, but you don't have the appropriate configuration file.
Please check your spread.conf, or send the list a copy of it.

Cheers,
Ryan

premature death

When I run the spread daemon on Mac OSX I get the following message before it dies: ip_init: IP access control file not found. If you are using IP based access controls, please make sure the file exists. Followed by the configuration info. Re: unicast mode

It will be sent to all of the Spread daemons in the currently installed membership configuration, and then delivered (according to whatever messaging guarantees you select) to the listed groups/private groups. Re: premature death

These are the only lines in the spread.conf file which are not comments (I've excluded the actual IP's, but they are all valid, on the same subnet and running spread daemons) Spread_Segment 239.0.0.1:4803 { mach1 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx mach2 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx mach3 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx } DebugFlags = {ALL} EventLogFile = /var/log/spread.log EventTimeStamp On 2005 Mar 19, at 7:42 AM, Ryan Caudy wrote: I think that this message tells you it was configured to use IP access controls, but you don't have the appropriate configuration file.
