Optimal settings between XP boxes: msg#00505network.openvpn.user
Hey everyone, I just started using openvpn and I must say it's a great program! I'm running 2.0_beta6 in server mode over an ADSL connection. I can connect to my friend who has a 56k dial-up using TAP. We're mainly using this so we can play LAN games over the internet. As soon as we go to play a game he starts getting "connection problems". Is there a way I can optimise settings to improve performance? Or is it just because he's on dial-up? I noticed I was getting replay/backtrack issues so i added the no-replay option. Here is the server config: port 5000 dev tap no-replay tls-server ca sample-keys/tmp-ca.crt cert sample-keys/server.crt key sample-keys/server.key dh sample-keys/dh1024.pem mode server ifconfig 10.3.0.1 255.255.255.0 ifconfig-pool 10.3.0.10 10.3.0.20 ping 10 ping-restart 120 push "ping 10" push "ping-restart 60" verb 4 There's nothing special in the client config (I pretty much just used the sample and changed the remote setting to point to my IP and added the no-replay) Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
