Router problems when using OpenVPN: msg#00462

Subject: Router problems when using OpenVPN

Hi there,

I'm using OpenVPN to connect my boss's home computer to the network at
the office. I'm using a Gentoo Linux server behind the office router
with OpenVPN 1.5, and a laptop with Win XP behind a router with OpenVPN
1.6.

When I use the connection for a while (I was using verbosity 4 for
debugging) it goes "Adapting stateful compression" a couple of times
(every few minutes). Then after I use the connection for a few minutes,
the router at my boss's home seems to die: I can't ping to it and
everything starts working again after I reset the router. Has anyone
experienced this problem before and/or knows how to solve this? Kind of
sucks, cause it means I can't rely on my internet connection once I
leave the OpenVPN conn open for a longer time.
