Will v1.5 work with v1.3.2: msg#00451network.openvpn.user
I'm running openvpn 1.3.2 and shorewall 1.4 on two linux embedded firewall/router boxes which connect two small networks located in two different offices. I have static IP addresses in both locations, and I use a shared static key. It has worked reliably for a year or more and I hate to rock the boat, since I really don't remember everything I did to get it working as well as it is. However, I would now like to connect to one or the other network from different remote locations where I will not have a static IP address. I have a laptop running W2K which I would use for this purpose. I understand that I must use openvpn 1.5 or greater on W2K. Does that mean I must upgrade openvpn on the firewall boxes to 1.5 also, or should 1.5 on the W2K laptop be able to connect to 1.3.2 on the firewalls. Thanks in advance for any comments. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by Black Hat Briefings & Training.
