I realize this has probably been asked many times but if the outside network is eth0 and the inside network is eth1, and one wants retain these networks, then is an eth2 physically required for the OpenVPN 2.x virtual network to bind to?

I'm a little confused here as there are eth1-network devices (printers, etc) that would not function within the virtual network.

So, to accomplish this, should I add another network card for virtual network binding?

From what I understand[1], when you bind eth1 with your tun or tap device, you will then have a device not unlike "br0". Simply duplicate eth1's settings unto br0 and you should be golden.

[1] Forgive me if I am wrong, for I am still working on my *nix install of an OpenVPN server...
