Booting 6500's from Flash.

OK, I'm actually trying to boot some 6500's from the 64M ATA flash cards 
I've had in them for a while, and I get a constant looping of:
System Bootstrap, Version 7.1(1)
Copyright (c) 1994-2001 by cisco Systems, Inc.
c6k_sup2 processor with 524288 Kbytes of main memory
Autoboot executing command: "boot disk0:c6sup22-pk2sv-mz.121-19.E1.bin"
device does not contain a valid magic number

until I manage to break it and boot from sup-bootflash.
(At which time I can verify /md5 the image on the disk, and its fine.)

The requirements for booting from the ATA cards are rommon 7.1(1)

Does rommon = system bootstrap?

So the firmware is 6.1.(3)

Is the firmware the Rommon? Or the system bootrap ROM?

I'm on my third TAC engineer with no answers yet....
