I'd love to. Can't. Tied to distro.

Security is not at issue - the device in question will be on a
closed loop. I will again emphasise this with the responsible
parties, though.

No, somebody else did. I may actually port it when I have the time, but
this is part of the hardware vendor's uClinux distro. There's nothing
very magical about the distro, it's just a matter of successfully
cloning the linker options from something that works, but I have
learning curve thataway.

I spent a significant amount of time trying to get 5.1.x up. No joy,
no build. Linker problems. Nothing intractable, but
use of 4.1.2 was dictated by time constraints.

When I get some time freed up, I'll take anbother stab at it.

I would much rather devote any such time to whatever's top of branch.
