Subject: Clarification on the types of the objects in an SNMP TRAP

Hi all,

Lately I have this question on the type of the objects in an SNMP TRAP.

I need clarification on the following things.

1. An SNMP TRAP can contain any type of Objects(especially Counter, Gauge..
(application/derived) types).
To my knowledge, SNMP does not have such a restricition. Am I correct?

2. Is it OK to SNMP Manager, if I send the trap with the tag value of
INTEGER(0x02) for the
objects of type Counter/Gauge/ any other INTEGER derived types?

Can somebody help me regarding this?

Thanks
Mahesh
