ucd-4.2.4 and netsnmp5.0

Hi All,

 

We have been using the ucd-4.2.4 toolkit to implement a number of MIBs in the LINUX environment.

After the 5.0 came out, we have been thinking about migrating to it from the 4.2.4. Before we take that porting effort, I had a few questions --

 

1. Would the mib modules that we developed using 4.2.4 work transparantly in 5.0?

2. Is there a performance improvement in the agent?

3. If answer to 2 is yes, is there any changes to the mib modules (the generated code) that we have to do to take advantage of the improvements? Please note that our mib modules were generated using the 4.2.4's MIB compiler.

 

4. Any other suggestions/gotchas that we need to be aware of from the experienced coders who successfully moved from 4.2.4 to 5.0.
