At the very least, you should try installing ucd-snmp-4.2.6 and preferably use the current release (net-snmp-5.1) > I can run (configure/make/make install) successful, > but I can't find snmpd file. If you've accepted the default configuration settings, then snmpd should be in /usr/local/sbin If it's not there, then I'd have a look at the compilation output.
