UCD-DISKIO and fiber/EMC disk: msg#00199

Subject: UCD-DISKIO and fiber/EMC disk

I'm using Net-SNMP 5.1 on Solaris 8. I have some fiber-attached disk
from an EMC Symmetrix that I'd like to monitor via the UCD-DISKIO-MIB.
Unfortunately it doesn't show up when I walk the MIB tree. I get about
20 other disks (including ODS metadevices -- very cool!), but none of the
ones that are fiber-attached. I _am_ able to find these devices with
format, and can translate them from /dev/dsk/cxtxdxsx to sdxxx format,
but the sdxxx entries don't show for my EMC disk. The UCD MIB only
seems to index direct-attach and internal storage.

Is this a known issue? Is there any sort of workaround or am I just
going to have to live without those devices for now?

Steve
