[Fwd: Re: Net-SNMP source review request]: msg#00272

Subject: [Fwd: Re: Net-SNMP source review request]
Hello, Net-SNMP coders!
I've asked the original developer to review some minor
re-formatting changes, and after obtaining his approval,
submit them now for inclusion into the CVS tree.

Two files, winservice.h and winservice.c, are supplied
in the attached gzip'd tar ball. Please apply them
directly to the CVS tree (e.g., no patch).

Thanks!

Hi Mike,
Go ahead and checkin the changes.
I have no objections.
Thanks,
Raj

Greetings,
I want to thank you for providing a means
of running the Net-SNMP agent as a Windows service
process.

The "winservice" sources checked in to the Net-SNMP
project
have CR characters embedded in unusual places.
This causes Visual C++ to mangle the source,
making it harder to understand.

If you would permit me, I would like to offer
an alternative formatting which preserves the code,
yet makes the code easier to read and comprehend.

Of course, I am stating my opinion on this. If you
have
the time, would you kindly review the re-formatted
sources ?

I am including a gzip compressed tar archive
containing
the re-formatted sources. There is an older copy of
this
message with "diff" output, demonstrating the
changes
which were made. This README.txt is dos CR-LF
formatted,
while the r".c" and ".h" files are newline
formatted,
as other files in the Net-SNMP project are.

The README.txt file can be easily read using
WordPad,
or NotePad, from a Windows workstation.

My intent, with your approved edits, is to update
the winservice sources in the Net-SNMP source base.

Thank you,
-Mike Slifcak
