I am working on incorporating net-snmp into a network appliance. I have
some questions about where to provide information.
Unfortunately, I do not have some sample appliances to query, but I've
downloaded MIBS from various vendors, and many include information such
as included in the UCD-*_MIBs within their enterprise MIB.
Is in normal to have an appliance report information for multiple
enterprises? In that case I suppose I must provide the end user with
the UCD MIBS along with my enterprise MIB; or do I move the function
provided by the UCD MIBs to my enterprise MIB? If I move (or duplicate)
the function, what is the appropriate way? Do I use the UCD code as a
template and create new modules, or can I somehow remap their existing
function so that they respond queries to my MIB?
