Subject: Re: can't expire certain groups?

Greetings --

I, too, have been plagued by these errors for months and I was given a
source code for deleting and re-adding the groups flagged (Search the
April 2003 inn-workers archives for fixbuff). After running the program,
the "buffindexed: could not open overview" message goes away, but
I've been getting "buffindexed: could not mmap overview for hidden groups"
instead.

I searched the web for clues on how to get rid of these messages short
of rebuilding the history and/or overview but have come up empty. I
did find a site on the web which archives and publishes its news.daily logs
and I noticed that this sites logs have the same errors.

I also checked the output of docheckgroups and found that all of groups
I've had trouble with are non-standard. This makes me wonder if it's
only buffindexed overviews having problems with non-standard newsgroups.
